Test Press: Train to ( ) Station
Book, Year: 2020, Individual Work본 인쇄물은 교수 박장호와, 디자이너 주요한, 박준희가 한동대학교를 베이스로 열악한 교내 디자인 학업 교류를 증진하기 위해 실행한 기획한 인쇄소의 컨디션을 체크할 수 있는 견본집입니다.
이 견본집의 제목은 ‘Train to ( ) Station’. 인쇄소를 뜻하는 ‘Printing Station’이라는 영문을 모티프로 인쇄소에 전송하는 우리의 작업데이터를 ‘Train’으로, 인쇄소를 ‘Station’으로 은유한 것이죠. 이 견본집은 인쇄업자 관점의 공법적 관점보다는 디자이너의 의도가 각 인쇄소에 따라 어떻게 결과 도출되는가를 테스트할 수 있는 견본집입니다.
본 견본집을 인쇄소에 전송함으로써 색상, 화소, 서체, 재단, 제본에 대한 결과 값을 테스트하고 각 권의 견본집으로 인쇄소 정보를 아카이브할 수 있습니다. 또한 본 프로젝트로 한동대학교의 디자인 학업 교류가 활발해지기를 바랍니다.
This print is a sample book that can check the condition of the printing shop, which was implemented by Professor Jangho Park, designer Johnny Joo, and Junhee Park to promote poor Handong University in-school design academic exchanges.
The name of the sample book is ‘Train to ( ) Station’. The word ‘Printing Station’, which means a printing shop, has become a motif. It's a metaphor for our graphic data to ‘Train’ and a metaphor for printing shop to ‘Station’. This is a sample book that tests how designers' intentions are derived from each printing shop rather than from a mechanical perspective from a printing shop's point of view.
By sending this sample collection to the printing shop, you can test the result values for color, DPI, typeface, cutting, and binding, and archive the information of the printing shop with the sample collection of each volume. Also, I hope that this project will promote the exchange of design studies at Handong University.
